About the Principal

Mr. Paul Kobliska

As the new Principal of Riverdale School, it is an honor to become a member of the Ram            Community.  I am very passionate about education, and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with engaging, relevant, challenging, and high-quality school experiences.  As a parent of 3 children, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.

Before joining Riverdale, I served in a variety of teaching and educational roles over the past 15 years.  Most recently, I served as the Science, Business, Technology Supervisor in Pequannock District Schools for 5 years.  During my tenure in Pequannock, I also served as the Math Supervisor and HIB Coordinator and earned the Google Level 2 Certified Educator and Legal One HIB certifications.  Before Pequannock, I taught middle school math in Scotch Plains - Fanwood School District for 10 years. During my time in Scotch Plains - Fanwood, I coached basketball and soccer, was the Student Council Advisor and served as an interim Assistant Principal.   My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Scranton, a Masters in Educational Leadership from the College of Saint Elizabeth, and I am enrolled in the College of Saint Elizabeth pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

I believe that great schools ensure that all students, staff, and stakeholders feel socially and emotionally supported, as well as, connected to their school.  Consequently, my primary goal will be to strengthen the school culture and safeguard that all stakeholders feel personally connected to Riverdale School.

I believe that great schools are the result of great teachers, so my secondary objective will be to provide our staff with feedback on their instruction, access to personalized professional development, and opportunities to grow and strengthen their pedagogy.  Our teachers are the bridge to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction, together we will model being lifelong learners.

I look forward to meeting you.  I welcome your conversation and positive input throughout the year. I am looking forward to leading and learning as a community.

Yours in Education,

Paul Kobliska
